Through the Summer season at Skegness Raceway we offer all kinds of motor racing and lots more, from the high speed spectacular racing to hair raising stunt shows together with family fun shows featuring top commentators, celebrities, soap stars, live DJ’s, firework display and Sky Dive Display.
All of these unique activities unfold right in front of our audience, who enjoy superb viewing facilities from elevated positions all around the arena. For an additional cost you can watch from the comfort of your own car in our trackside parking facility - strictly first come first served!!
So much goes on, it’s often a case of trying to keep up with it all and wondering where to look next. And with very reasonable catering and bar facilities available all around the raceway together with large outlets for souvenirs, magazines, DVD’s and a wide range of confectionary, you will have a job to fit everything in.
When it comes to the crunch we have one speciality act which always goes down well is our famous Monster truck. They say Skegness has more caravans per square mile than any other place in the world. Not surprisingly then they always seem to be on the road at the same time? Steve our stunt driver has his own way of dealing with them and avoiding all the frustration!! What? You’re staying in a caravan!! Oh well I wasn’t talking about one like yours – perhaps you’d better close your eyes if you’re a caravan lover.
From 22nd July on Tuesday’s we start off some of the events with a breathtaking colourful Sky Dive display often up to 10 men and women jump out of a plane at 13,000 feet sailing high above the stadium and swooping into the arena before your very eyes in the centre of the infield.
On Thursday’s 24th July to 28th August 7-30pm we have the highly entertaining Las Vegas Stunt Show. Cars jumping over a line of parked cars, rollover after rollovers, incredible smashes and crashes Motorbike stunts, including jumping through a wall of flames and over cars.
We often finish off the night with a fantastic firework display and if you’ve got your breath back there is usually a soap star there to sign autographs, have photographs taken, and sometimes they have a go in a racing car. Can we ever forget Les Battersby (Coronation Street) in a Reliant Robin, Cain Dingle (Emmerdale) starting a race. Chastity Dingle ( Emmerdale) riding on the pace car and the tremendous reception that Mark Charnock (Emmerdale) Phil Mitchell (Eastenders) Domonic (Paddy) from Emmerdale received.
All of the events are in support of The Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, which has on several occasions had to visit the stadium when competitors have been injured.
At Skegness Stadium we are able to offer all round entertainment, for the serious race fans we have the hugely popular American powered F1 Stock cars, big engines, big noise, big cars, big crashes usually racing at weekends and a special summer season event on Thursday 31st July 7-30pm. Their smaller but quicker and certainly no less exciting counterparts the F2 Stock Cars are racing on Bank Holiday Mondays, some Thursdays and Tuesdays throughout the season.
